About Deb Wesley | Portrait & Personal Branding Photographer in Downers Grove
A fully guided portrait photography experience for families, seniors, and professionals
Hello, I’m Deb Wesley—portrait photographer, creative director, and the heart behind the experience at Deb Wesley Photography.
With over a decade of experience, I help people who don’t love being photographed walk away with images they’re truly proud of—whether that means confidently showing up for their business, or smiling every time they pass their portrait artwork on the wall.
Yes I know—being in front of a camera can be intimidating.
Most of my clients come in worrying about something. It might be not knowing what to wear, how to pose, where to shoot, or whether they’ll even like how they look.
The overwhelm is real.
And too often, people end up with photos they don’t know how to use—or worse, don’t love.
It doesn’t have to be that way.
Over the years, I’ve learned that most people don’t actually dislike being photographed — they dislike feeling unsure, rushed, or self-conscious during the process. That’s why I’ve built my work around clear communication, thoughtful preparation, and natural posing that allows people to relax and feel like themselves.
From wardrobe guidance and location planning to directing the session and more, I take responsibility for every step. You don’t have to guess, manage, or overthink — that’s my job.
For my branding clients, the goal is images that help you feel confident showing up in your business and attract paying customers.
For families and seniors, the experience goes beyond digital files. I help turn your favorite images into finished artwork designed to be enjoyed in your home — so your photos don’t live forgotten in a blue file on your screen.
My Back-Story
Before photography, I spent many years working as a registered nurse. That experience shaped how I work today — listening closely, reading people well, and understanding that trust matters just as much as skill. While the setting has changed, the heart of my work hasn’t: helping people feel cared for and confident in moments that matter
Outside work, I love time with my family — my husband, our three daughters and sons-in-law, and my grandchildren, Niko and Wes. When I can truly unplug, you’ll usually find me traveling somewhere new… and yes, my camera still comes along
If you’re looking for photography that feels personal, guided, and thoughtfully done, I’d love to help you create something meaningful
